Knowledge. Expertise. Innovation.

The Journey Begins.

Our founder, Shane Wootton has spent his career working within all areas of the Polyurethane industry. His knowledge of P.U. systems and technology are unsurpassed. In 1990, it led to his formation of the company. Thereby challenging the established order of thinking, that only the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) could provide the specialist support customers required.

Replacements Parts, Repairs & Maintenance.

Very quickly the company gained a reputation within the industry for providing exceptional levels service backed by a team of highly qualified engineers. Demonstrating our expertise in the field with our ‘out of the box’ thinking when it came to polyurethane mixing system servicing and in particular repairs.

The business expanded to include the supply of both OEM and commercially produced replacement parts, with large quantities of stock held at our manufacturing and distribution centre. From mixers to pumps to heat exchangers, parts were available to customers at much shorter lead times. Meaning they could keep equipment down-time to a minimum and reducing how long it took to get back up to full production.

Our extensive knowledge of PU technologies meant we were also in the unique position of being able to deliver training to on-site maintenance teams, enabling customers to save time and money as they undertook their own servicing and repairs. The competitiveness offered against traditional supply chain routes, further enhanced our reputation as a credible alternative to the OEM’s.

Design & Supply of Bespoke P.U. Metering Systems

In 2002, we became the first in the UK to design, manufacture and supply bespoke special application high-performance polyurethane, epoxy, and silicone processing machines to specific client driven requirements under the brand name:

Offshore Market Expansion

As the team increased and our technical expertise grew even further, in 2004 we won several major contracts within the offshore sector. The complex nature of these projects presented a whole new set of challenges. From designing PU systems suitable for ‘onboard’ operations, through to adherence of strict standards for supply to ensure health, safety, operational and environmental compliance in offshore settings.

In-House 3D Component & Equipment Design

By 2005, our in-house design team were focused on the development of a wider range of non-OEM parts. Feedback from customers was overwhelmingly positive and particularly at the cost savings, which they’d been unable to achieve when tied to purchasing from OEM’s.

In-house Machine Control System Design

Metering and mixing equipment require an effective control system to operate, so by 2010 it was only natural that we looked to increase performance efficiencies. Our research & development team began designing and assembling the ‘brains’ of the P.U. systems to our own specifications.

This has allowed us to deliver unparalleled levels of improvements and support to customers, by enabling us to connect in remotely and help optimise their PU processes.

Awarded the ‘MADE IN BRITAIN’ mark

It was very special moment for everyone at CTM, when in 2020 we achieved the coveted ‘Made in Britain’ mark. This further demonstrated our commitment to upholding the very highest standards of British manufacturing, and this recognition is a source of immense pride for the whole company.

Pioneering Spirit and Investment in CNC Equipment

In 2023, CTM Metering Equipment was used for the application of the Rosehill 3 Component Field Joint system. This was installed onboard ‘Pioneering Spirit’, the world’s largest offshore construction vessel. Members of CTM team were onboard during the commissioning to provide additional specialist training and support.

The year culminated with additional investment as we upgraded our CNC machining capabilities. Helping us stay at the very forefront of the industry as we offer the highest quality technical solutions for our customers.

This commitment to ongoing investment, development, and innovation, has enabled us to become an internationally recognised Polyurethane metering machine service & UK PU RIM (Reaction Injection Moulding) machine manufacturer & supplier. Capable of delivering bespoke customer projects on land and sea.
